Catching you up on September 2010

September was a very fun month.  We went to Lagoon on Labor Day.  I thought that it would be more packed with people than it was.  At first we played some of the carnival games and Kota won the huge toy and Jason won the wolf toy for me at the darts table.

Toward the end of the day I decided that everyone needed to get their faces painted.  I went with the half face butterfly while Jason and Kota went with the full face designs.  Kota is a Tiger and Jason is a Panda.

When I said eveyone I ment everyone... My mom and Dad picked out designs.  I think Dad's design is awesome cause he does pest control...  hehe   Mom's was the prettiest design out of everyone.

Deanna had a pink flamingo on her cheek and Bret had the logo from his shirt painted on his cheek.  USA Soccer.  Both of the girls were heart princess'.  They turned out so cute!!

Taelia and Karmindi had me take so many pictures of them hugging eachother... This is just one of many.

After the face painting stop the guys and I decided to go and ride Rattlesnake Rapids.  Not the smartest idea:

August 2010

So we were really busy in August.  I wanted to do as much as possible before Kota started school.
We went on a hike ("Nature Walk") up Rock Canyon Park during sunset.  I love this picture of Jason and Kota.  Don't they look so happy? :-)

On the drive home  from the park.
This picture shows Kota's first time eating Pop Rocks!! Love it!!!

Jason and Kota went to Seven Peaks one Friday and had a blast!  They also bought some temporary tattoos so we decided to put them on that night.  It was so fun!

One Sunday out of shear boardness I packed the guys in the car and we headed up Provo Canyon to visit Bridal Veil Falls.  I hadn't been there in a couple years and I hadn't hiked up to the falls in about 5 years.  It was a great day to visit.  We hiked up, and of course took pictures.  Jason stood under the falls and "suggested" that Kota do it as well.  I bet that water was freezing!!!  But it was fun to watch them stand there getting drenched by all that cold water. hehe

Jason was first under the waterfall...

Kota followed closely behind.

Meeting Kota

Jason and I officially became parents.... of a 16 year old son from Japan. No he isn't legally ours but he will be a part of our household until 2011.  We signed up and became host parents through the EF Foundation.  Kota came into America in July and got to go to a three week Culture and Language Camp in Seattle before flying to Utah in August.

We went to the airport with my parents, Deanna and my neices to pick up Kota.  The weekend before we had made welcome signs and the little girls were excited to hold them and wait for Kota to come down the escalator.
Sign was made for Kota by Bret.

The Welcome sign, made by Deanna

There he is in the red hoodie!!!

First time we got to talk face to face, before we had just been exchanging emails.

Meeting Grandma

Meeting Grandpa

Once we said our hello's we went out to the parking garage and it was present time!!  It was fun deciding when types of things we could give Kota that would not only represent us as a family but also show a little bit of our culture.

Jason and I got him a Coke a Cola tin filled with our favorite candies, things you can't find in Japan

Mom and Dad gave him an iTunes gift card to load up his iPod

Deanna and Bret gave him a Real Salt Lake t-shirt so he will be ready to go to a game.

Once the gifts were handed out we got in the car and headed home.  Jason and I had just finished our loft area with hardwood floors and turned it into an exercise room/guitar room.  Plus we finished Kota's room.  Personally I love his room!!!

New Blog...

So, back in 2008 I started a blog and had a whole two posts.  I tried to sign in today and couldn't remember my sign-in information so I thought why not start a new blog.  And since no one stopped me here it is.  Woo Hoo!!!
Hopefully this time I will post more than twice!  :-)

Lets start off with a little information, My name is Lynnea and currently I am 29 and I work as an Escrow Officer.  Jason just turned 30 and he is working as a Plumber.  We have two dogs, Conan and Luci, as well as two cats, Lister and Rin.

Right now we have an awsome "son" from Japan living with us.  He will be here with us until the middle of 2011.  We have been able to do so many things with him and I think that I am going to try and catch you up from August to now....
