Easter 2011

Easter Morning!!!!

It is a tradition to have an easter egg hunt... but in our family we have a two ...one for the children and one for the adults.

Our eggs have money inside!!!

After the Hunt we count up our winnings and eat the candy and just relax.

Moab March

Jason and Kota went down to Moab for a weekend with some of Jason's cousins.  They camped at the Oasis Riverside campground that features tent sites and mini-cabins for rent.

Inside one of the cabins they play Ticket to Ride while they wait.

On the trail with Jason looking "hardcore" in the rearview mirror.

Will, Hayden, Kota and Connor relaxing on some of the red rocks.

Kota, splitting the Wedge.

Jason, Paul and Mandy... too tired of waiting.  :-)

President's Day in Idaho

My employer's have a cabin in Island Park, Idaho and invited us up with them for the President's Day weekend.  As soon as we got there Jason and Kota found this bedroom and just had to take pictures.  I think they turned out great!

The snow in the back yard was about three feet deep but that didn't stop us from playing on the swingset... once we carved a path so we could actually swing.

Jason thought it would be funny to whitewash me.... I think it backfired.  He got more snow on him then on me.  :-)

Kota learned how to snowmobile and was able to go on a few trails that weekend.

This is on one of the trails that just the boys went on.... I think they stopped to have a little fun....

Right before we left the cabin, Jason and Kota each built a snowman. This is Kota's, he placed it right in the middle of the driveway so everyone could see it.

We had so much fun on this little vacation.  Thanks Scott and Hillary!!!!

December 2010

December was a great month.... Basketball season started at the high school.

We helped my sister and brother in law build a playhouse for the girls.

Jason and Kota were working really hard... can't you tell?  :-)

Christmas was held at our house for Jason's family..... Kota was spoiled :-D

Family Pictures

My sister asked if she could take some pictures of our family to practice.  Of course we said yes and we all headed out to a local orchard for some pics.  She took some individual pictures and group pictures and we all had a lot of fun...
Here are a few of my favorites.

Now.....What am I reading?:  Last Sacrifice (Richelle Mead)
And, what did I think???  OK, I am a HUGE Vampire Academy fan and I have been since the first book came out so I have put years into this series.  I love all of the characters and I want the best for all of them.  ***SPOILER****
I am a huge Adrian fan.  He loved Rose so much and in a way that almost any girl would like so I didn't like that they broke up, especially how it happened.  But, I think that in the end Rose and Dimitri really do match each other perfectly and I am OK with them being together.  Also, Richelle is doing a spin-off series called Bloodlines and she said that the main male is one of the love interests from Vampire Academy so I hope Adrian gets his perfect match in the next book.
*** END SPOILER***
So, if you haven't read any of the Vampire Academy I would strongly suggest this series, it has everything from love to hate, fighting bad guys and a murder mystery.

Reading

I love to read.... I am really into Young Adult, Paranormal and ChickLit.  I love being able to come home from a busy day at work, pick up a good book and escape into the world that the author has created.  My mom just recently started a new blog and she mentions what she is currently reading and I think it is a great way of telling others about it.  Also, I have found a great website for keeping track of every book we have read. Goodreads.com  This website allows you to mark which books you have read, and you can also catagorize them by placing them in bookshelves.... I can also write a review and share it with others as well as read reviews from other members.

What I am Reading:  Matched by Ally Condie
And:  I loved this book!!!  This takes place in a world where people are told exactly how their lives are to take place.  There is a curfew, you are told what job you will have and you are told who you will be matched with for the reast of your life.    Can everything really be that perfect?  What if there is a flaw in the system?  This story addresses just that...  Cassie is the heroine and during her matching she sees two faces flash on the screen, and she knows them both.  I loved this story and found it hard to to put the book down so I could go to sleep.  This is a first book in a series and I can't wait to find out where this journey is going to lead....  Of course if you want more information you are really going to have to read the book.  :-)
