Family Pictures

My sister asked if she could take some pictures of our family to practice.  Of course we said yes and we all headed out to a local orchard for some pics.  She took some individual pictures and group pictures and we all had a lot of fun...
Here are a few of my favorites.

Now.....What am I reading?:  Last Sacrifice (Richelle Mead)
And, what did I think???  OK, I am a HUGE Vampire Academy fan and I have been since the first book came out so I have put years into this series.  I love all of the characters and I want the best for all of them.  ***SPOILER****
I am a huge Adrian fan.  He loved Rose so much and in a way that almost any girl would like so I didn't like that they broke up, especially how it happened.  But, I think that in the end Rose and Dimitri really do match each other perfectly and I am OK with them being together.  Also, Richelle is doing a spin-off series called Bloodlines and she said that the main male is one of the love interests from Vampire Academy so I hope Adrian gets his perfect match in the next book.
*** END SPOILER***
So, if you haven't read any of the Vampire Academy I would strongly suggest this series, it has everything from love to hate, fighting bad guys and a murder mystery.

Reading

I love to read.... I am really into Young Adult, Paranormal and ChickLit.  I love being able to come home from a busy day at work, pick up a good book and escape into the world that the author has created.  My mom just recently started a new blog and she mentions what she is currently reading and I think it is a great way of telling others about it.  Also, I have found a great website for keeping track of every book we have read. Goodreads.com  This website allows you to mark which books you have read, and you can also catagorize them by placing them in bookshelves.... I can also write a review and share it with others as well as read reviews from other members.

What I am Reading:  Matched by Ally Condie
And:  I loved this book!!!  This takes place in a world where people are told exactly how their lives are to take place.  There is a curfew, you are told what job you will have and you are told who you will be matched with for the reast of your life.    Can everything really be that perfect?  What if there is a flaw in the system?  This story addresses just that...  Cassie is the heroine and during her matching she sees two faces flash on the screen, and she knows them both.  I loved this story and found it hard to to put the book down so I could go to sleep.  This is a first book in a series and I can't wait to find out where this journey is going to lead....  Of course if you want more information you are really going to have to read the book.  :-)

Jazz Game

This month started off with Jason getting jazz tickets from his employer.  I had never been to a Jazz game before and Kota was starting his basketball season that weekend so it was perfect timing.  We drove in to the Trax Sandy Station to ride the train in... It is nothing like the trains in Japan but it was a lot of fun.

October 2010

Wow... I am two months behind!!  Ok, so out our house October is always all about Halloween.  This is Jason's favorite holiday and for good reason... I mean you get to dress up as anyone you want, go to parties with friends and eat candy!!!  Kota hasn't celebrated Halloween so that was really fun for us.  I held a family friendly party at our house and a ton of people came.  I was so much fun!!!  Here is a quick look at what we did:

Kota and Jason found some great masks at Walmart... They look so funny!

Catching you up on September 2010

September was a very fun month.  We went to Lagoon on Labor Day.  I thought that it would be more packed with people than it was.  At first we played some of the carnival games and Kota won the huge toy and Jason won the wolf toy for me at the darts table.

Toward the end of the day I decided that everyone needed to get their faces painted.  I went with the half face butterfly while Jason and Kota went with the full face designs.  Kota is a Tiger and Jason is a Panda.

When I said eveyone I ment everyone... My mom and Dad picked out designs.  I think Dad's design is awesome cause he does pest control...  hehe   Mom's was the prettiest design out of everyone.

Deanna had a pink flamingo on her cheek and Bret had the logo from his shirt painted on his cheek.  USA Soccer.  Both of the girls were heart princess'.  They turned out so cute!!

Taelia and Karmindi had me take so many pictures of them hugging eachother... This is just one of many.

After the face painting stop the guys and I decided to go and ride Rattlesnake Rapids.  Not the smartest idea:

We got Soaked!!!

August 2010

So we were really busy in August.  I wanted to do as much as possible before Kota started school.
We went on a hike ("Nature Walk") up Rock Canyon Park during sunset.  I love this picture of Jason and Kota.  Don't they look so happy? :-)

On the drive home  from the park.
This picture shows Kota's first time eating Pop Rocks!! Love it!!!

Jason and Kota went to Seven Peaks one Friday and had a blast!  They also bought some temporary tattoos so we decided to put them on that night.  It was so fun!

One Sunday out of shear boardness I packed the guys in the car and we headed up Provo Canyon to visit Bridal Veil Falls.  I hadn't been there in a couple years and I hadn't hiked up to the falls in about 5 years.  It was a great day to visit.  We hiked up, and of course took pictures.  Jason stood under the falls and "suggested" that Kota do it as well.  I bet that water was freezing!!!  But it was fun to watch them stand there getting drenched by all that cold water. hehe

Jason was first under the waterfall...

Kota followed closely behind.
